Chelsea FC Foundation Delta Air Lines Edge of Box Club was recently on tour at the Microsoft Reactor space in Shoreditch.

The home of Tech and Creativity in London was the setting for 124 starts-up from the Edge of the Box Club family, giving them the opportunity to learn from successful start-ups, understand the failures and problems they still face now and how technology has played a part in their journey.

Warwick Hill, who now manages Microsoft Reactors in Europe and beyond, introduced the new space after an introduction from Edge of the Box creator Carl Southwell before Warwick gave a workshop on how to access Microsoft’s services for start-ups and the journey they can be supported on.

Other guest speakers included two Microsoft Accelerator start-ups who shared their story, successes, failures and advice on how to start a business and grow, while Tony Pepper, co-founder and CEO of Egress, and Dr Mark Smith, founder and CEO of Contact Engine, provided the workshops.

Employability and enterprise manager Carl Southwell said: ‘This was the first time we had taken the Edge of the Box Club for a spin outside of Stamford Bridge.

‘The beauty of the club and its audience is that it lends itself to different topics and groups so collaborating with companies like Microsoft allows that to happen.

‘It’s also a chance for very early stage start-ups to learn from leading global brands like Microsoft through the power of sport.

‘It was clearly a beneficial day for over 100 of our start-up family and we will be pursuing more opportunities like this.’
