Jorginho's coolly-taken penalty yesterday means the Blues now have more debut Premier League goalscorers than anyone else.
The Italian international's goal on the stroke of half-time made him the 19th Chelsea player to have scored on their first appearance in the Premier League era. Three more - Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Juan Sebastian Veron and Loic Remy - scored on their league debut for the Blues having already notched in the English top flight.
Jorginho follows in the footsteps of some of our greatest players of the past 25 years, including Tore Andre Flo, Juan Mata, Willian, Diego Costa and Pedro. Seven of the 19 scored off the bench, including Alvaro Morata on the opening day of last season and, perhaps most famously, George Weah against Tottenham at the start of the century.

In converting his spot-kick, Jorginho became the eighth player to have scored a penalty on his Premier League debut. The other Chelsea player in that list is Pato. Having scored two league goals in his four-and-a-half seasons at Napoli, Jorginho will now be aiming to improve his Premier League tally over the next 37 games.
