Some of Africa’s best young footballers are at Cobham this week following a rigorous selection process alongside Shield and Rexona, our official personal care partners.
The youngsters, who make up the Africa XI squad, come from Ghana, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe and came through a series of trials earlier this summer to win a trip to Stamford Bridge and play against a team featuring Chelsea legends during their stay in London.
The group arrived in the capital on Wednesday, welcomed to Stamford Bridge with personalised shirt presentations and individual training kit. A FIFA 18 competition followed, played in the dugouts at the Bridge.
Thursday brought the squad’s first Cobham visit, with sessions at the training ground taken by Chelsea Foundation coaches to make their final preparations before the big game. They also met David Luiz, Victor Moses and N’Golo Kante, who gave them valuable advice before the big match against the former Blues.
Tomorrow they take on a team coached by Eddie Newton, featuring former Blues Michael Essien, Celestine Babayaro and Dennis Wise.
Will the players handle the pressure when it matters most on the pitch? You can find out here on the official Chelsea website soon.
