Our development squad head to Hertfordshire tonight for a London derby against Tottenham in Premier League 2.
Joe Edwards’s side are currently sixth in the league table, four places and six points above their capital rivals with five games of the season remaining.
After a home defeat to Swansea City last time out, the young Blues are eyeing a return to winning ways and a victory that could see them rise into the top four. Our away form in PL2 has been impressive this term with six wins from eight games on the road, aided in particular by attacking productivity from midfield. Three of the team’s central midfielders account for most of the goals and assists claimed in our 17 league games to date.
The two sides played out a 1-1 draw back in November as Charlie Brown’s last-minute leveller earned the Blues a point at Aldershot. In our previous three visits to Spurs at this age group, we are unbeaten and have scored 10 goals, which bodes well for another entertaining contest.
Kick-off at the Lamex Stadium in Stevenage is 7pm and tickets can be purchased at the turnstiles priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions (over-60s and under-16s). There will be updates throughout the evening on our official @chelseafc Twitter.
