With a quick turnaround of a week between our two matches against Czech opposition, club statistician Paul Dutton begins our preview of the Europa League quarter-final second leg...
Chelsea in Numbers
Chelsea have won our eight Europa League matches at Stamford Bridge by an aggregate score of 23-4
The Blues are 14 games unbeaten in the Europa League (13 wins, one draw), second only to Atletico Madrid’s run of 15 games between November 2011 and October 2012. Our last defeat in the competition was 2-3 at Rubin Kazan in the 2012/13 quarter-final second leg after we won 3-1 at the Bridge.
We are undefeated in 11 European matches. Our record unbeaten sequence in Europe is 14 games between 2008 and 2010.
The Blues have kept a clean sheet in eight of our past 11 Europa League matches this season.
This is Chelsea’s 10th European quarter final since 2003/04. The Blues have progressed from nine of those ties, only being eliminated by Manchester United in the Champions League in 2010/11.
Chelsea have won 83 (69.7 per cent) of our European home games and lost just eight of 119 matches played at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have scored in each of our last 36 home games in European competition, netting 94 goals in the process (2.6 per game). The last occasion we failed to score was against Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-final in April 2011.
We have been involved in four penalty shoot-outs in European competition, winning in Munich in 2012 and losing the other three.

SLAVIA PRAGUE IN NUMBERS
Founded 1892
Honours
17 Czech league championships, last in 2017
8 Czech Cups, last in 2018
Slavia have lost all six UEFA competition ties in which they were defeated at home in the first leg.
Slavia were held 1-1 at home by Sparta in the Prague derby on Sunday, which reduced their lead over defending champions Viktoria Plzen at the top of the Czech league table to five points.
The Czech side have won one of their previous 10 games against English sides in Europe (two draws, seven defeats) – this coming against Leeds United in March 2000 in the UEFA Cup (2-1).
Slavia Prague’s 2-1 victory at home to Leeds United in March 2000 was their most recent game in a European quarter final; they were eliminated having lost the first leg 0-3 at Elland Road. Their only progression from a European quarter final was in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup against Roma (3-3 on away goals).
Slavia Prague are looking to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League and in doing so become the first Czech side to get to a major European semi-final since they did it themselves in the 1995/96 UEFA Cup. That season, they were eliminated at the hands of French side Bordeaux in the semi-finals.
Slavia have conceded 40 more fouls than any other team in the Europa League this term (203). Only Eintracht Frankfurt (30) have received more yellow cards than the Czech side (29).
Slavia Prague have won both their previous European penalty-shoot-outs, the most recent being in 2008.
