Edwards sets sights on returning home with UEFA Youth League trophy

Exclusive Dressing Room Speech

‘We didn’t come here for revenge on Barcelona. We came here to get our trophy back.’

Those were the post-match dressing room words of Chelsea Under-19s manager Joe Edwards as he urged his players to focus on one final push for glory in the UEFA Youth League final.

The Blues have their sights on a record third title after coming through on penalties against Barcelona following a dramatic 2-2 draw in Switzerland. Edwards’s side twice came from behind before triumphing in the shoot-out and avenging last season’s defeat in the final at the hands of the Spaniards.

After praising the performance of his players, Edwards turned attentions towards Monday’s final against Porto, in which our youngsters can reclaim a trophy they took home to Cobham in both 2015 and 2016. Chelsea TV were granted exclusive access to the dressing room for the boss’s debrief and you can watch the clip above.

The Blues go for a record third Under-19 title in Monday’s UEFA Youth League final against Porto. Kick-off is at 5pm UK time and the game is live on BT Sport.
