The final Community Day of the season took place at Cobham with a group of Chelsea fans meeting Maurizio Sarri’s squad.
Arranged via the Chelsea Foundation, the group of Chelsea supporters were invited to see the men’s squad put through their paces on Wednesday morning.
The fans and their families watched the players train before meeting them afterwards for pictures and autographs, with David Luiz and Eden Hazard, among those the fans were most excited to meet.
One of our visitors to Cobham was 18-year-old Craig Beckett, who was referred to us by Chestnut Tree House and attended with his mother Trina and brother Adam.
Trina, who is life-long Chelsea supporter along with her son Craig, said: ‘Craig was lucky enough to see the Chelsea mascots at Chestnut Tree House on the 12th April, they mentioned Craig and got the ball rolling in terms of Craig coming to Cobham to watch a training session.
‘We couldn’t wait, so we just had to make sure he could get the day off school and I could get the day off work!
‘Just to see his face light up, particularly with his favourite players, means everything and it’s making memories, it’s for the now and it’s making special things happen that we can all treasure and remember so it’s been fantastic and we can’t thank the Foundation and Chestnut Tree House enough.
‘Today has just proved what an amazing bunch of guys they are, on and off the pitch. The fact that they all stopped, they all spoke to him, high fives with him, nothing was ever too much trouble.’
Among our other guests was Patrick McCarthy, Riley Hasa, Louie AJ Gaughan-Reed and Elliot Gulliver.
Our Community Day happens regularly over the course of the season with the Chelsea Foundation linking with arrange of charities and individuals to arrange visits for worthy supporters and their carers.
