Eden Hazard shortlisted for Premier League's Player of the Season award, vote to help him win

Eden Hazard has been nominated for the EA Sports Player of the Season award following a Premier League campaign in which he has been involved in more goals than anyone else, and you can vote to help him win.

The Belgian is the only player not from Manchester City or Liverpool to make the seven-man shortlist. He is joined on it by Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Virgil van Dijk, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

His 16 league goals to date is his joint-best effort in a Chelsea shirt, the same as he managed in our 2016/17 title-winning season. He has also registered 15 assists, the most in the division and the highest figure of his Blues career. No Premier League player has been involved in more goals than him this season.

Hazard previously won the award in 2015.

Last month Hazard was nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award, and he spoke exclusively in Sunday's Watford programme about how it felt to be recognised by his fellow professionals after yet another blistering season in a Chelsea shirt.

'I think it’s the best feeling when the players vote for you,' he told the matchday programme.

'That means that you are playing good, because they are the ones on the pitch with you and they understand football more than others.'

Hazard also revealed who he voted for this year and explained what goes through his mind when he makes his decision.

'Well, sometimes people are playing well for two months and then for the next nine months they just disappear, so I try to look for consistency. It’s better for me to vote for a guy that is playing well for the whole season than for a guy who is on fire for two months, but only two months. I don’t base it so much on how they play when I come up against them, I just try to base it on how they play over the year.

'I voted for Sergio Aguero – not because he scored a hat-trick against us! He has been playing in the Premier League for eight years now and in that time he is the guy who is always consistent. Sometimes he’s injured, but when he’s on the pitch, he’s scoring a lot of goals. So, for me, he is the best. We can also say that Sadio Mane was good, for example, but a lot of players maybe deserved to win...even me!'

The Chelsea matchday programme is available to purchase from sellers at Stamford Bridge for every home game and can also be ordered online here, where back issues are also available including the programme for Sunday's match against Watford, featuring the full interview with Eden Hazard.
