The Blues have agreed a deal to sign Guro Reiten from LSK Kvinner, and the forward will officially join the club on Monday 15 July.

The 24-year-old is a versatile player who is capable of playing out wide, as a no.10 or a striker and she will arrive at Cobham after competing at the Women’s World Cup with Norway, alongside Chelsea players Maren Mjelde and Maria Thorisdottir.Reiten has featured regularly for her country since Under-15s level, but it is in the Toppserien – Norway’s equivalent to the WSL – that she has shown her best form, finishing as the league’s top scorer in each of the past three seasons. The Norwegian is also the Toppserien's current Player of the Year.Reiten said: ‘It will be a new challenge for me and I am very much looking forward to it, also in order to push myself to take the next step in my development as a person and as a player.‘My time at LSK was great. Fans, team-mates, coaches and officials have always been very supportive and I wish LSK to win the Norwegian title again this season and to play a good role in Europe.‘For the next weeks, my focus will be with the Norwegian national team in order to achieve our goals at the World Cup.’Chelsea Women manager, Emma Hayes added: ‘Guro is one of the most talented creative players in the world and she will be a super addition to our football club.‘She brings the winning mentality and personality to shine in a Chelsea shirt, and I’m excited to introduce her to our fans.’

Norway begin their World Cup campaign on 8 June with a match against Nigeria, followed by facing hosts France on 12 June and Ji So-Yun’s South Korea five days later.
