Hudson-Odoi closes in on new long-term Chelsea deal

Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge, according to reports in the Evening Standard.

The newspaper reports today that the 18-year-old will pen a new long-term deal to remain at Chelsea for the next five years.

‘Standard Sport understands Chelsea have made a major breakthrough in negotiations and the 18-year-old is set to commit his long-term future to the club,’ the Evening Standard reports.

‘While nothing has been officially signed yet, both parties are happy with how things have progressed and it appears just a matter of when the announcement is made.’

The teenage winger has had a fantastic breakthrough season with the Blues, helping us secure Champions League football back at the Bridge and also making his senior debut for England.

Despite injury cutting short his season, the 18-year-old winger made 24 appearances for Maurizio Sarri’s side last term and made a big impact in the Europa League, scoring four goals on our way to lifting the trophy following our victory over Arsenal in Baku.

The Standard's report also suggests that Hudson-Odoi is recovering well from successful surgery on his Achilles injury and that there is optimism he could return to action quicker than anticipated.

Lampard’s links no surprise to Keogh

Derby County captain Richard Keogh has told Sky Sports that he isn’t surprised to see Frank Lampard’s name being mentioned in connection to a number of Premier League jobs.

The former England international took the Rams to the Championship Play-Off final in his first season in management and the Derby defender has praised the work of Lampard, when speaking to the media while away on international duty.

‘I can't speak highly enough of the gaffer and working with him in his first season,’ Keogh explained. ‘He's going to have a fantastic career as a manager for sure.

‘As far as I know he's looking forward to next season as much as I am and it would be a shame to see him leave.

‘But in this industry, when you're doing a good job and you're Frank Lampard, then you're going to get linked with jobs. Hopefully he stays. I've really enjoyed working with him and he's really improved the football club and me as a player.’

Loan players set to depart Chelsea on permanent deals?

Goal.com is reporting that the Blues could be set to cash in on a number of fringe players, with Kenneth Omeruo, Mario Pasalic and Ola Aina all linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

The trio have spent the past season on loan at Leganes, Atalanta and Torino respectively and rumours are circling that all three players could turn their temporary stints into permanent stays with their loan clubs apparently willing to exercise ‘buy-out’ clauses in any loan deal.

Omeruo could remain in La Liga with Leganes, who are ready to discuss terms on a permanent stay once the Nigerian has returned from African Cup of Nations action.

Pasalic helped Atalanta qualify for the Champions League for next season and the Italian side are hopeful of retaining his services ahead of the new campaign.

Meanwhile, the same article is hinting that Ola Aina could remain with Torino, who are preparing a £9m bid.
