Hudson-Odoi reportedly close to a new Chelsea contract

The Telegraph is reporting that Callum Hudson-Odoi appears to be close to signing a new five-year deal at Chelsea as he continues his recovery from an Achilles injury.

The 18-year-old, who scored five goals in 24 games for the Blues last season before his untimely injury in April, has attracted interest from Bayern Munich who have reportedly made a number of bids for the teenager.

However, The Telegraph have suggested that a new deal with the Blues could be close at hand.

‘Hudson-Odoi is on the verge of signing a new five-year deal, with the finer details being ironed out ahead of an announcement,’ it said.

‘Despite the fact the winger will miss the start of the new season as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles tendon, Chelsea are keen to secure the future of the 18-year-old as he enters the final 12 months of his present deal.’

According to the Daily Mail, Hudson-Odoi’s recovery is going well and while he is likely to miss the opening month of the season, it is hoped that he will be ready to return to action in September.

Following on from the Hudson-Odoi reports, the Telegraph suggests the futures of three current Chelsea players are under question.

It says ‘the Blues will not make a decision on Everton target Kurt Zouma or the futures of full-backs Marcos Alonso or Davide Zappacosta, who are both open to moves away, until Frank Lampard has started work as head coach.’

Zouma spent last season on loan with the Toffees, who are reportedly interested in making a permanent move for the French international defender.

Hazard helps out Chelsea coaches in Greece

While Eden Hazard may have left Chelsea as a player, the Belgian has not forgotten his strong connection with the Blues, with The Sun reporting how he helped out at a Chelsea FC Foundation junior training programme in Greece earlier this week.

The Belgian is currently on holiday in Greece and he took some time to lend a helping hand to the Foundation coaches, who are running regular football training sessions throughout the summer at the Sani Football Academy.

The academy is located at the Sani Resort, which tweeted a video of the Belgian star at the training session, enjoying a kick-around with the children, signing autographs and posing for a group photo with the coaches and their trainees.

‘Eden Hazard joins football fans at Sani Resort's Chelsea FCF Football Academy and younger guests get the chance to play, receive insider tips and autographs. What an evening!’ said the resort in an accompanying message.
