The Lionesses take on the World Cup holders tonight in Lyon for the semi-final of the tournament and Chelsea’s Millie Bright spoke about tonight’s encounter against the USA.

Phil Neville’s side have reached three consecutive semi-finals and will be looking to go one better than 2015 tonight at Stade de Lyon.

‘We came here to win the World Cup, and that's still our aim,’ Bright said. ‘Our mentality has been to win it, so anything less, we would be disappointed in ourselves.’

The last time that England came up against the three-time world champions was during the SheBelieves cup in March, and the clash ended in a 2-2 draw, which resulted in the Lionesses winning the tournament for the first time. And although they are still yet to record a competitive win against the USA, Bright believes that their time is now.

‘I think it's definitely going to be our biggest test in the tournament so far, but it's one we're definitely ready for. I just think we're going to bring the ultimate energy. We're going to be 100 per cent going out there, win the physical battle and make sure we're clinical.’

‘I think that's something we've done really well in the tournament so far - we've created a lot but also finished. So that's something we're going to go out there and try to do and I 100 per cent believe that we're going to do it,’ she continued.

Bright, who missed the four-team tournament hosted by the Americans due to the management of her fitness, has no doubt that England can build upon the confidence from that game and said: ‘We’ve moved on from that performance, developed even more and become even stronger.’

Kick-off is at 8pm UK time, and you can follow the Lionesses by tuning into the BBC.
