While pre-season training stepped up a notch with the arrival of 13 new faces to our Dublin training base on Monday, there were more positive vibes at Cobham as Toni Rudiger posted an update on his injury comeback.

The German international was back outside on the grass in the latest step of his rehabilitation following surgery on his left knee meniscus back in April. In the social media post, the defender is filmed jogging and working with the ball for the first time since suffering the injury at Old Trafford towards the end of last season.

Also back at Cobham, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi are working hard to return from their respective Achilles injuries. While the former provided the latest on his recovery last week, Hudson-Odoi has been running outside and spending time in the gym as he sets his sights on a swift recovery. Reece James is another of our youngsters currently rehabbing at the training ground.

Back in Ireland, Frank Lampard’s first game in charge of the Blues takes place tomorrow night (Wednesday) against Bohemians.
