Chelsea midfielder Nathan has extended his loan at Atletico Mineiro until 1 January.

The Brazilian returns to his homeland and to the club at which he spent last season on loan, having initially joined Mineiro in July of last year.

They are currently fifth in the Brazilian top flight, with action set to recommence later this week following a mid-season break.

Nathan has established himself as a key part of Rodrigo Santana’s squad in recent months and will look to end the season strongly now he has extended his loan until the New Year.The creative midfielder joined the Blues in 2014 from Atletico Paranaense, having previously scored five goals in five games at the Under-17 World Cup in 2013 before being named in the team of the tournament.Nathan has represented Brazil at Under-17 and Under-20 level, and had loan spells at Vitesse Arnhem in Holland, French club Amiens and Portugal side Belenenses before linking up with Atletico Mineiro last season.
