It was certain to be popular, but Chelsea Women versus Tottenham Women in the season opener at Stamford Bridge sold out even faster than we imagined!
The seats, which are free of charge, were all claimed in four days and what better sign can there be of the rising popularity of Emma Hayes’s team, and the women’s game in general after the biggest World Cup ever.
The Blues had 11 players competing at the Women’s World Cup and almost all of our star performers from France will be back for the exciting kick-off to the league season on Sunday 8 September.
Unfortunately not everyone who wants to be there for this new London derby has a ticket at the moment, but we have opened a waiting list for fans to be informed if additional tickets become available.
We ask those who have a ticket and find they can no longer attend the match to return it to the club so one of their fellow Chelsea supporters has the opportunity to attend the game.
Returned tickets will be made available to those on the waiting list.
Should supporters wish to return any tickets, they must be received by Chelsea FC no less than 48 hours before the match is due to be played.
The address is:
PO BOX 21805
Please also note that fans buying a Women’s season ticket will still be eligible for a free ticket to this game.
