Hazard pays tribute to Blues on new boots

Eden Hazard may have left Chelsea but according to the Sun, he has paid a special tribute to the club where he spent the past seven seasons on the design of his new Nike boots.

While the Belgian’s new Vapor360 boot is done up mainly in white with gold trim, it has an added personal touch with a portion done up in blue to honour the club where he spent seven successful seasons.

‘Chelsea fans will love the heel, which features a blue design,’ states the paper.

‘Nike say the "Racer blue accents honour his former club" with the player's name among the Mercurial slogans - "fast by nature" and "engineered for speed".’

Redan set to leave for Berlin

The Daily Mail reports Daishawn Redan is heading to Hertha Berlin after the Bundesliga side agreed a deal with Chelsea for the young Dutch forward.

The 18-year-old joined the Blues from Ajax in July 2017 and he enjoyed two successful years in our Academy, playing on the team which won four Under-18 titles in 2018 and scoring for our Under-19s against Porto in this year’s UEFA Youth League final.

According to the paper, Redan has drawn plenty of interest from other clubs in Europe but opted to join Hertha as they ‘will offer him the chance to accelerate his development with regular first-team football in one of Europe's top leagues’.

Adds the Mail: ‘Hertha believe Redan will be able to replicate the success of another Dutch youngster at the Bundesliga side.

‘Javairo Dilrosun joined Hertha last summer from Manchester City and followed that by making his breakthrough into Holland's senior squad.’

Mills believes big clubs should bid for Cahill

Speaking on TalkSport, ex-England defender Danny Mills has urged Arsenal and Manchester United to bid for former Chelsea captain Gary Cahill, who is a free agent following his departure from Stamford Bridge.

Cahill has been linked with a number of clubs since leaving the Blues with Leeds United and Aston Villa tipped as favourites to sign the 33-year-old.

However, Mils feels the centre-back could still perform at a bigger club.

‘If you want someone to come in to play two thirds of the games next season, and also bring professionalism, experience and be someone players can learn from on and off the pitch – he can add all of those things to the club,’ said Mills.

‘It’s a no-brainer to take him. He’ll just want to play and be a part of it.

‘The likes of Arsenal… and why aren’t Manchester United interested? They’re desperate for a centre-half!

‘Everybody seems to be going the way of, ‘we can’t sign anybody over 30’, but Zlatan Ibrahimovic didn’t do too badly when he came [to Manchester United] at 36 [sic], did he?

‘It’s not just about playing ability, it’s all the other attributes that these experienced senior players bring to the club.’
