The group of players were on a week-long visit to our Cobham training ground where they had experienced football sessions delivered by our Foundation coaches as well as competitive fixtures, including a game against a UK-based Football Development Centre.The week was then completed by a surprise visit from Loftus-Cheek who took time out of his rehab schedule to meet the participants.The Blues midfielder, who signed for Chelsea when he was eight years old, took time to answer questions from the young aspiring hopefuls before posing for photographs and signing their shirts.He said: ‘It’s always great to take part in these type of events and I only hope the group have enjoyed it as much as me. As a footballer, I know that we are role models to many and so it’s important that we take the time to give back.’David Monk, Chelsea Foundation regional talent manager, said: ‘The week has been a truly special experience for our players visiting from the CFC International Development Centre in Singapore. A busy itinerary has seen the players training every day at Cobham and competing in tournaments against our CFC UK Foundation Development Centres.

‘The week culminated with meeting Ruben Loftus Cheek for an exclusive question and answer session, it was great for the players to hear an in depth insight into life as a Premier League and England player. Ruben shared his journey and conversed with the players to give advice on what it takes to make it as a pro player.‘This week’s residential has been a truly unique experience for our players visiting from Singapore and demonstrates our commitment to providing genuine development opportunities for players from across the globe.’That was not all for Loftus-Cheek as he also met participants on our Soccer School at Cobham on Tuesday. The Blues midfielder took part in a Q&A session with the youngsters before some selfies and signing autographs.
