Taking place at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground in Enfield, the festival was a celebration of another successful year of the Premier League and BT’s disability programme.

The programme helps the Foundation by providing funding to deliver a series of projects in the club’s local communities, aimed at creating opportunities for people with disabilities, giving them access to more talent pathways and inspiring them through sport.

At the festival, participants from 28 clubs took part in a range of different sports including football and volleyball, before showcasing their skills and abilities during a football tournament on Thursday afternoon.

After four wins from four games against Cardiff City, Wolves, Newcastle United and Swansea City, in which they scored 14 goals and conceded no goals, the Foundation team rounded off a memorable day by winning a trophy.

Chelsea Foundation disability co-ordinator Ellie Crab said: ‘We had a fantastic day with the Premier League and BT Sport.

‘To bring all of the clubs together from across the country to celebrate disability football and showcase the progress that has been made through this funded project was brilliant to see and be a part of.

‘The players had a really enjoyable day, making new friends whilst taking part in various training sessions and game and we are very proud to come home with a trophy.’

BT volunteer Sam Coffey, who looked after the Foundation team on the day, said: ‘The players and coaching staff of Chelsea are all extremely talented in what they do and this was incredibly inspiring to see.

‘They thoroughly deserved the winner’s trophy and they all should be so proud with how they performed throughout the day.

‘I genuinely found the whole experience very humbling.’
