Izzy Brown has today joined Luton Town on loan for the 2019/20 season.

The forward heads back to the Championship after spending last season at Leeds United, although injury disrupted his progress at Elland Road.

Brown made his senior debut against the club he joined the Blues from, West Bromwich Albion, in the penultimate league game of the 2014/15 campaign. He has since enjoyed loan spells at Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town in the second tier, helping the latter earn promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs in 2017.

The following season, Brown signed a new contract at Stamford Bridge until 2021 before signing for newly-promoted Brighton on loan. He made 13 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls, before a knee injury saw him return to Chelsea in January 2018.

The 22 year-old, who has been capped at youth level by England, has twice won the FA Youth Cup with the Blues, as well as lifting the UEFA Youth League with Chelsea in 2015.

Brown joins a Luton side back in the Championship following their promotion last season. Managed by Graeme Jones, the Hatters opened their campaign with a 3-3 draw with Middlesbrough at Kenilworth Road.

They travel to Cardiff on Saturday and could hand Brown a debut against the Bluebirds.
