Jacob Maddox has today joined Tranmere Rovers on loan for the 2019/20 season.

The midfielder, 20, spent last season in League Two at Cheltenham Town, where he made 44 appearances. In January, he spoke to the official website about his time at Whaddon Road.

Maddox joined Chelsea as a 14-year old and won back-to-back FA Youth Cups as well as the UEFA Youth League during his time playing for our Academy teams. On the international stage, he picked up a winner’s medal with England at the Under-19 European Championship in 2017.

Tranmere have achieved successive promotions to return to the third tier of English football for the first time since 2014. They beat Newport County in the play-off final in May with a last-minute Wembley winner.
