Mason Mount in for Mateo Kovacic is the only change from our midweek Super Cup starting team as Olivier Giroud continues to lead the line in our first home game of the season.

Mount is making his first senior Blues appearance at Stamford Bridge against Leicester City and the 20-year-old returns alongside Pedro and Christian Pulisic in attack, with Giroud up top following his goal against Liverpool in Istanbul on Wednesday. The American makes his home debut.

The back four and goalkeeper are unchanged, with Kepa protected by captain Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and Emerson. N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are retained in what is expected to be a two-man central midfield. Willian is fit enough for a place on the bench.

Chelsea are expected to line up in the following 4-2-3-1 formation:

Kepa; Azpilicueta (c), Zouma, Christensen, Emerson; Jorginho, Kante; Pedro, Mount, Pulisic; Giroud

Chelsea subs: Caballero, Alonso, Barkley, Abraham, Willian, Kovacic, Tomori

Leicester are expected to line up as follows:

Schmeichel (c); Pereira, Evans, Soyuncu, Fuchs; Ndidi, Tielemans, Choudhury; Maddison, Vardy, Perez

Subs: Ward, Justin, Morgan, Albrighton, Iheanacho, Barnes, Praet

Chelsea's recent home record

Chelsea have won our opening home league match in 14 of the last 16 seasons (14 wins, one draw, one defeat), with our only defeat coming as reigning champions in 2017/18 against Burnley.

Chelsea have only lost one of our last 22 home league games (13 wins eight draws), though that defeat did come against Leicester in December 2018.

The Blues have failed to score in two consecutive top-flight games, last doing so in three in a row in September 2007 (a run of four).

In his playing career for the Blues, Frank Lampard scored three goals against Leicester, and won all five games he played against them.
