Antonio Rudiger and Michy Batshuayi will get some minutes in tonight's development squad game against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

The German has not featured in a Chelsea shirt since limping off against Manchester United in late April. Having worked hard towards regaining his fitness, Rudiger was named on the bench in the Super Cup and told Chelsea TV after the draw with Leicester yesterday that he would be featuring in the PL2 tonight.

'I know I need to be patient,' said the 26-year-old.

'There is no need to rush anything because as we all know we have a long season to go. I am happy because I am going to have some minutes with the Under-23s against Liverpool. I'm very pleased with that.'

Meanwhile Michy Batshuayi is set to play having not yet appeared in our first three games of the campaign.

Kick-off against Liverpool tonight is at 7pm, as Andy Myers' side look to continue their impressive start to the new campaign with a third straight victory. They have so far beaten Swindon Town (in the EFL Trophy) and Derby County away from home and now have a chance to register three home points.

Tickets for the game are now sold out.
