Chelsea Here Chelsea There - Gallagher goal continues great start at Charlton

Another goal for Conor Gallagher in a draw for Charlton Athletic was the highlight of the week for those Chelsea players out on loan.

Gallagher continued his great start to life at Charlton, scoring his second goal in as many Championship starts when he met Jonny Williams’ cross to get their first equaliser at Barnsley.

Last season's Chelsea Academy Player of the Year was at the heart of the action again as Charlton scored an injury-time equaliser, being fouled in the box by Bambo Diaby to earn the late penalty converted by Lyle Taylor.

Izzy Brown was one of four debutants for Luton Town in their 3-1 win over Ipswich in the Carabao Cup, but was on the losing side as a substitute for the Hatters in the Championship on Saturday, as two goals in three minutes by West Bromwich Albion’s new signing Grady Diangana saw them come from behind to win 2-1 at Kenilworth Road.

It was a difficult week at Huddersfield despite the best efforts of Trevoh Chalobah, who made his debut for the club in a 1-0 defeat to Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday and then came off the bench in the 2-1 loss to Fulham in the Championship on Friday, which cost manager Jan Siewert his job.

Dujon Sterling also made his first appearance of the season in the midweek Carabao Cup ties, as Wigan Athletic were beaten 1-0 by Stoke City.

Matt Miazga featured throughout for Reading as the Royals recorded their first league win of the season in defeating Cardiff 3-0. The American contributed to a clean sheet at the Madejski Stadium, while former Chelsea Academy midfielder John Swift was among the goals.

Josh Grant played his first game for Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday, featuring for the whole 90 minutes as the Pirates recorded their third consecutive victory, beating Leyton Orient 2-0 in the Carabao Cup.

Luke McCormick started both Shrewsbury’s 4-0 loss to Rotherham United in the Carabao Cup and the 0-0 draw with Rochdale in League One. The former was his first 90 minutes of senior football.

Lewis Baker put in an impressive performance as Fortuna Dusseldorf kicked off their Bundesliga campaign in style with a 3-1 win over Werder Bremen, their first victory at the Weserstadion since 1977.

Charly Musonda came off the bench as Vitesse continued their unbeaten start to the Eredivisie season with a 3-0 home win over PEC Zwolle. In the Dutch second tier, Ike Ugbo was a substitute as Roda JC lost 4-0 to Volendam.

In Brazil, Nathan was a second-half introduction for Atletico Mineiro but could not prevent the team falling to defeat at Atletico Paranaense.
