Conor Gallagher was the standout Chelsea loan performer of the weekend, as the midfielder continued his fine form for Charlton with another goal.

Last season’s Chelsea Academy Player of the Year netted his third of the campaign for Lee Bowyer’s side, with his goal proving enough for the Addicks to defeat Brentford 1-0 at The Valley.

Also in the Championship, Matt Miazga helped Reading to a 2-0 away victory against Huddersfield before being substituted. Trevoh Chalobah was part of the Terriers side, having netted his first goal for the managerless club against Cardiff in the week.

Izzy Brown and Luton recorded a superb 3-1 Championship victory over Barnsley, although the Chelsea loanee did not feature as he remained on the bench.

In League One, Richard Nartey came off the bench for Burton Albion as they were held to a goalless draw with Shrewsbury. Luke McCormick was an unused sub for the Shrews.

In Europe, Davide Zappacosta made his debut for Roma as a late substitute in their thrilling home draw with Genoa. The game in the Italian capital ended 3-3 and leaves Roma ninth in Serie A.

Staying in Serie A, Mario Pasalic played the full 90 minutes as Atalanta defeated SPAL 3-2 away from home to move up to third place in the table.

Over in Germany, Lewis Baker scored an unfortunate own-goal for Fortuna Dusseldorf in their 3-1 home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, before later picking up a yellow card in the Bundesliga tie.

In Holland, Ike Ugbo was on target for Roda JC but could not prevent the Dutch side slipping to narrow home defeat to NEC Nijmegen.

Meanwhile, Nathan played the full 90 minutes for Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro. They were defeated 1-0 by Bahia.
