The boss has selected Christensen alongside Kurt Zouma and even though two goals were conceded at Carrow Road, he praised the duo’s performance in helping limit a creative Norwich outfit to few clear chances. Christensen had the best pass completion rate of anyone on the pitch (93 per cent), as well as winning four tackles and three aerial duels.

‘I feel good,’ Christensen said.

‘It’s been a long time since I played three games in a row. For me personally it’s been a good start and I’m feeling more and more comfortable.

‘We’ve conceded some goals so there are things we need to do better as a team. We’re tackling it quite well I think. We’re looking at it as a team. We still have things to learn, we know that, with the type of football we want to play. Sometimes that is high risk. We just have to go through it and we will be alright.

‘Looking at training we are going to get there quickly. We’re getting into the shape a little bit more. We know our job better and better. The manager is always on his toes and he is pushing us to perform the best we can every day. That’s what people really like in training. We feel comfortable with each other and I think every game is going to get better.’

The return from injury of Toni Rudiger after the international break will only improve our defensive options, and Christensen believes the German being back will help competition at the back and ‘push me, Kurt and Fikayo to our limits’.

This afternoon we host Sheffield United, looking to build on the win at Norwich before the pause for international football. After some frustrating outcomes, particularly against Manchester United and Liverpool at the start of the season, Christensen highlighted the good feeling in the camp after picking up three points in Norfolk.

‘We have performed well but results haven’t really gone our way. It’s easy to get carried away by the first win, and we actually said to each other we wanted to get carried away.

‘It brings a lot of positivity. We can push ourselves and use that as a good thing. We are over the moon and we are going to show that energy today.’
