The Mariners beat their fellow League Two side Macclesfield Town on penalties on Tuesday evening. Our most recent meeting with the Lincolnshire side was in the FA Cup, back in February 1996 when we drew 0-0 on a freezing night on Humberside and then won the replay 4-1  when Michael Duberry, Mark Hughes, Gavin Peacock and John Spencer were the Chelsea scorers.Grimsby are currently seventh in League Two with 11 points from their first seven games. This is the first time they have reached this stage of the League Cup since 2005. Chelsea made it to the final last year.
