Champions League football is back at the Bridge on Tuesday and here you can rewatch footage of one of our greatest home wins in the competition, against Napoli in 2012, as part of the Champions League Years series now available on the 5th Stand App.
The Italian side came to Stamford Bridge in March 2012 with a 3-1 lead from the first leg of this heavyweight round of 16 clash. Andre Villas-Boas had left Chelsea shortly after that defeat in the Stadio San Paolo, with Walter Mazarri's side regarded as one of the best on the continent.
Roberto Di Matteo had taken the reins and watched on as headers from Didier Drogba and John Terry put us ahead on away goals. Gokhan Inler's sweetly-struck half-volley swung the tie back in Napoli's favour, but a Frank Lampard penalty took the tie to extra-time.
In a frenzied atmosphere at the Bridge, Branislav Ivanovic slammed home a cross from Drogba in the additional 30 minutes and the Blues dug deep to secure a memorable victory that kept our hopes of European glory alive. You can watch highlights from that game and all the others from that epic European campaign in Champions League Years, with all episodes now available to watch on the 5th Stand App.
