We scored with five of our six on-target attempts. We had a further seven off target and two blocked.

Tammy Abraham scored with three of his four efforts. Michy Batshuayi had four shots of his own during his 20 minutes on the pitch.

Four of Wolves’ 11 attempts were on target.

Abraham also won seven aerial duels, three more than the next players on that list, Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen. Abraham’s 70 per cent success rate was a game-high figure.

We had a 54.7 per cent share of possession. Jorginho spent the most time on the ball (6.7 per cent), followed by Fikayo Tomori (6.6 per cent). Those two players were the other way around when it came to the highest number of touches – Tomori had 88 and Jorginho 83.

Unsurprisingly, then, they also led the way when it came to passes attempted and completed. Jorginho was successful with 62 of his 70 passes, and Tomori 58 of his 69.

When it came to key passes, Jorginho and Mason Mount made three apiece, a figure bettered only by Wolves’ Joao Moutinho. Ross Barkley made two during his 25 minutes on the pitch.

Our overall pass completion rate on Saturday was 85 per cent, compared to the hosts’ 78 per cent. Of those Blues who started the match, Mateo Kovacic was our most accurate passer, finding a team-mate 94 per cent of the time, followed by Christensen (91 per cent).

Our passing and possession statistics were consistent in both halves.

Alongside his impressive passing figures, Jorginho was also our top tackler, winning four challenges. Willian and Alonso won three apiece.

Christensen’s eight successful clearances were twice as many as the next players in that department, while Tomori made a game-high eight interceptions.
