Loan moves for Academy duo

Academy defender Josh Grant has today joined League Two side Yeovil Town on loan until the end of the season.

Twenty-year-old Grant (pictured) embarks upon his first loan spell away from the club having joined as an Under-8.

A powerful defender, he has won a number of trophies during his time in the Chelsea Academy, including the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League.

Grant, who picked up the club’s Scholar of the Year award in 2015/16 and has represented England at Under-18 and Under-20 level, captained our development squad in last night’s Checkatrade Trophy game against Peterborough at Stamford Bridge.

He will now continue his development with Yeovil, who are currently 22nd in League Two.

Another Academy player, 17-year-old goalkeeper Karlo Ziger, has joined Sutton United on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

The Croatian was part of our Under-18 side which won the Quadruple last season.

Sutton are currently sixth in the National League.
