Chelsea FC Foundation recently joined forces with Microsoft as Stamford Bridge played host to an alternative Edge of the Box Club.
More than 40 start-ups attended the event in the Vialli Lounge at which Daniel Baker, a Skills Evangelist at Microsoft, delivered workshops to help start-ups build their own website and understand the power of computing.
Daniel Baker, who gave an inspiring talk last year at an Edge of the Box Club event, said: ‘Our work with the Chelsea Foundation continues to grow.
‘We worked with start-ups to develop their Cloud-First strategies and deploy resources into the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.
‘They can then realise the full benefits of cloud computing, including Microsoft’s huge investment in security, threat protection through to having fine grained cost control through cloud elasticity.
‘I am really excited to see how we can continue to work with Chelsea Foundation, executing against our mission to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more.’
Chelsea Foundation employability and enterprise manager Carl Southwell said: ‘A massive thank you to Dan Baker who really made a difference to the start-ups.
‘Cloud computing and website building may seem like a scary subject and maybe is better left to experts.
‘What Dan was able to do was alleviate these by delivering a simple, relevant and entertaining workshop that gave the start-ups a basis to move on from.
‘It is great feeling for them knowing they have more control on the direction of their website and grow their knowledge.
‘The driver behind this for both us and Microsoft is open innovation so everyone has the access, skills and learning to grow their business no matter what stage you are at.’
