Is Eden Hazard the most skilful player in the Chelsea squad? Well he’s certainly staking a claim for that tag with this piece of sublime skill in training!
The Blues, who take on Bournemouth in the Premier League this evening, have been working hard at Cobham this week but there was also time for some light-hearted two-on-two practice, with Hazard showcasing his talents.
Teaming up with Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Belgian feigned past Rob Green to leave the goalkeeper on the floor before then delivering a cheeky rabona nutmeg through the legs of N’Golo Kante and into the net.
In fact, it was so good that the onlooking Olivier Giroud declared: ‘That goal is worth double!’ while the ever-smiling Kante took it all in his stride and laughed off the nutmeg despite Hazard’s joyous celebrations with his team-mates.
There was also some fantastic skill on display from Willian, Giroud and David Luiz during the small-sided game and we’ve decided to crank things up a notch, and put a “FIFA Street” spin on the session.
The clip will be across our digital channels later today where you can decide for yourself whether Hazard is the most skilful Chelsea player, or whether someone else can take his crown.
Also look out for some fancy footwork from Willian, Kante’s side-foot finish and striker Giroud calling out David Luiz for missing a chance in the fun drill.
The Blues take on Bournemouth this evening, a side Hazard has an impressive scoring record against, and we will be hoping to build on our recent victories against Tottenham and Sheffield Wednesday by claiming three points tonight.
Will Hazard produce a rabona again tonight? Here’s hoping! And remember, you can watch the highlights on the official Chelsea app first from midnight.
