PMB: Chelsea v Huddersfield - the numbers

The chance to return to winning ways comes quickly. Club statistician Paul Dutton begins our preview of Saturday's match against Huddersfield...

Chelsea In Numbers

Chelsea are looking to avoid three consecutive Premier League defeats for the first time since November 2015.

Maurizio Sarri’s side have won 15 and drawn four of our 20 home games this season. Our only defeat was against Leicester before Christmas.

Four players – Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger and N’Golo Kante - have started every Premier League game this season.

The Blues have lost just one of our last 15 home games in the Premier League (eight wins, six draws).

Chelsea have failed to score in three of our last four Premier League games.

We have lost three of our past six games in the Premier League including the last two.

Eden Hazard has provided more assists (10) and created more chances (64) than any other player in the English top-flight this season.

Huddersfield were the first team to win the English league title three times in a row in 1924, 1925 and 1926.

Huddersfield’s away record is slightly better than at John Smith’s Stadium this season. They have won six points from a possible 33. Their only victory came at Wolves in November. They’ve achieved three draws at Everton, Burnley and Cardiff, and suffered seven defeats to Manchester City, Leicester, Watford, Bournemouth, Arsenal, Manchester United and Fulham.

Seven teams including Arsenal (22) have conceded more away goals in the Premier League than Huddersfield (21).

The Terriers Premier League goal tally of 13 is seven less than any other top-flight team. They have now failed to score in each of their past four games.

Huddersfield have lost 10 of their past 11 Premier League matches, drawing the other.

Huddersfield have won none of the 35 Premier League games in which they have conceded the first goal.

Since the start of last season, Huddersfield have failed to score in 33 Premier League matches - 10 more than any other side.

A league-high 31 per cent of Huddersfield’s goals in the Premier League this season have come from outside the box (4/13).

Christopher Schindler is the only Town player to have started every Premier League game this term.
