Our boss was joined by the Duke of Cambridge at a pub in Battersea where they saw England play Czech Republic, and met people who have been supported by Mind and CALM, both charity partners of Heads Up.

Lampard said: 'Suicide is still the biggest killer of men under 45 so getting everyone talking - whatever they’re going through - has never been more important. No one should be suffering in silence.'

Each fan was accompanied by somebody who has supported them through difficult times. The purpose of Prince William and Lampard’s visit was to highlight how football is a powerful conduit, for men in particular, to have a conversation about how they are feeling, whether this be watching a game with their mate or having a kickaround with friends or team-mates.

Heads Up, which was launched by the Prince earlier this year, is a campaign to change the conversation on mental health through football. Working with charity partners Mind, CALM, Sporting Chance and Heads Together, the campaign supports the important work which is already taking place across the UK to end the stigma surrounding mental health.
