With the working week nearly out of the way, and no game for Frank Lampard's Blues because of international football, it's a chance to put your feet up and enjoy some chill time over the weekend. To help with your planning, we’ve enlisted Kurt Zouma, a man so often found in the box, for some recommendations for what to watch on the box.

Top Boy (series)

Trending at number one on Netflix at the moment and billed as the UK’s answer to The Wire, Kurt’s first recommendation takes us into a crime-rich housing estate in east London, where we follow the lives of a group of people involved with drug dealing and street gangs. Fun fact: Series one and two originally aired on Channel 4, before Drake – a superfan of the show, stepped in to bring the third season to Netflix, with the Toronto-born rapper adding his name to the credits as executive producer.

Last Chance U (series)

This fly-on-the-wall American documentary journeys through the hopes and dreams of the football program at East Mississippi Community College. Several young collegiate athletes with varying degrees of talent, ambition and work ethic have to prove themselves on the football field under the stewardship of Buddy Stephens, whose highly combustible temperament akin to a ball of gas hovering next to a naked flame makes for great entertainment throughout.

Power (series)

‘It’s a gangster series. I have watched the first five seasons, and when the sixth one has finished I am going to watch them all again in a row! They are so addictive!’

We’re back in crime drama territory for our French defender’s final pick, as a popular and successful nightclub boss moonlights as a drug dealer to New York City A-listers. If it’s as absorbing as Kurt suggests, with six seasons ready to go, you’ll have enough on-screen entertainment to keep you going until Southampton visit the Bridge on Boxing Day.
