Michy Batshuayi, scorer of the winning goal when we met Ajax in Amsterdam a fortnight ago, is the cover star on today’s matchday programme as the Dutch champions visit Stamford Bridge on a big night in the Champions League.

The Belgian came off the bench at the Johan Cruyff Arena to net the only goal of the game and help the Blues wrestle back control of their destiny in Group H.

In the programme pages, Cesar Azpilicueta features in the main interview as the skipper discusses our strong start to the season and his secrets for staying fit. The Spaniard has missed just two games through illness or injury since joining the club in 2012.

He also provides an update in his regular captain’s column, in which he urges the Chelsea fans to get behind the team tonight. ‘We know what an atmosphere you supporters can create at Stamford Bridge on big nights like this and we are looking forward to another big occasion,’ he writes. ‘Let’s make sure we give everything we’ve got to win this game.’

Frank Lampard has high praise for Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic in his notes, reflecting on the vocal support given to the midfield pair by the travelling fans at Watford on Saturday.

‘I thought our support was fantastic at Vicarage Road,' notes the boss. 'I heard a lot of singing for Kovacic and Jorginho and I’m delighted with that – our fans appreciate effort and good play and you can see both of those attributes in the way they are playing at the moment.’

There is a Dutch flavour to this week’s match programme, with The Journey Home taking a look back at Johan Cruyff’s appearances as a player at the Bridge, while the Secrets of the Dressing Room feature is with Ruud Gullit.

There are also profiles on the best Dutch players to represent the Blues and Stargazing sees Paul Elliott reminiscing about the time he came up against Marco van Basten.

-This season’s matchday programme remains at £3.50 and is available in and around Stamford Bridge, the Megastore and online. Cashless payment is now available from certain sellers.
