The match takes place at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 4 December. Kick-off is at the earlier time of 7.30pm so supporters are advised to make their way into the stadium in plenty of time to avoid delays at the turnstiles.

Latest Chelsea team news

Tammy Abraham will be assessed today on his availability Frank Lampard reported in his media conference yesterday.

Barkley has been ill and Rudiger is getting closer but will not take part in this game.. Long-term absentee Ruben Loftus-Cheek will definitely miss out.

Latest Aston Villa team news

Villa are without Dutch international Anwar El Ghazi for their trip to west London after the winger limped off in the first half of their 2-2 draw at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon with a knock to the knee. He has been particularly influential for them this season and claimed the assist for Jack Grealish’s opener at Old Trafford.

Grealish himself missed three games before returning to action last week and was a constant nuisance to the United defenders, having played a part in both goals in the 2-0 win over Newcastle on Monday night. Frederic Guilbert is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the campaign against the Red Devils, while Keinan Davis and Jed Steer will also both miss out. Midfielder Jota returns after a two-month absence.

How to listen live

Chelsea TV will be providing live audio commentary on the 5th Stand app and this website, plus there will also be live text commentary on both those platforms.

Referee and VAR

Chris Kavanagh is the referee. His most recent Chelsea assignment was our 2-0 Premier League win over Brighton in September. The VAR is David Coote.
