Suarez rates Abrham highly

In an interview with onefootball.com, Uruguayan forward Luiz Suarez has named Tammy Abraham as one of the game’s best young strikers.

When asked to name the top forwards in world football right now, the Barcelona star namechecked the Chelsea youngster along with Valencia’s Maxi Gomez and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez

‘There are many young strikers who are playing very well this season,’ said the 32-year-old.

‘Personally, I have certain number of young and old strikers that I like to see them because of their skills. For example, I like Abraham, Chelsea’s No.9.

‘In my opinion he is an incredible striker with a good finishing and who moves incredibly despite his youth.’

Sinclair lauds Lampard and Morris

According to the Evening Standard, former Chelsea favourite Frank Sinclair has lauded Frank Lampard and Jody Morris for producing a style of football at Stamford Bridge which has won over a lot of neutral fans this season.

The former Blues defender believes that under Lampard, the blend of experienced title-winning players and exciting, attack-minded youngsters from the Academy has made Chelsea the team to watch this season.

‘Frank Lampard has shown that if you're prepared to be brave and play these young players, if they are good enough, they will show that,’ said Sinclair.

‘I think it is a statement from a lot of other supporters that Chelsea are their second team this season. The way the team are playing, the young Academy players being England internationals and that you know when you see Chelsea play, you're going to enjoy it.’

He also praised Morris for helping to push on the flourishing prospects.

‘I think he is a very positive coach that wants players to express himself,’ said Sinclair of his former Chelsea team-mate.

‘If you look at Jody as a player he was a very technically gifted midfielder and I would expect that with the players he is working with at Chelsea, he will be encouraging the players to express themselves and play high-tempo football.

‘As a person he can be hard when he needs to be and tell people what they are doing right and what they're not, he will be dead honest on that front.

‘Even though he and Frank are young coaches in terms of experience, they will be firm when they need to be firm and when you're working with top internationals is something you need.’

Loftus-Cheek making progress on comeback trail

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has shared an update on his fitness, posting a video of himself on Twitter working out at the gym at Cobham as he continues his recovery from an ankle injury which has sidelined him since May.

The 53-second clip starts with the young midfielder doing a balancing exercise on the left ankle which he injured towards the end of last season.

His rehabilitation workout continues with a striding exercise on the gym floor before he is shown doing ball work with both feet in an untroubled matter.

Loftus-Cheek’s video, which is accompanied by a direct hit emoji but no words, has proven extremely popular, amassing nearly a quarter of a million views since it was tweeted on Sunday.
