Chelsea transfer news: All the ins and outs in January

With the transfer window now firmly closed, the official Chelsea website rounds up all of our arrivals, departures and loan deals completed in January.

Pulisic and Higuain arrive

Early in January it was announced we had agreed terms with Borussia Dortmund for the permanent transfer of attacker Christian Pulisic, with the 20-year-old loaned back to the German club for the remainder of the season.
 

A loan move for striker Gonzalo Higuain was completed last week. The striker made his debut against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup and also started at Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Fabregas departs

Cesc Fabregas left Chelsea following a wonderful four-and-a-half-year spell at Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard, who won four major trophies as a Blue, joined Ligue 1 club Monaco.
 

Deadline day deals

Michy Batshuayi joined fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace on loan until the end of the season after returning from Valencia, where he spent the first half of the campaign.

Brazilian attacker Lucas Piazon moved to Italian top-flight side Chievo on loan for the rest of the season.

Academy midfielder Charlie Wakefield completed a permanent transfer to League One side Coventry City, while both Islam Feruz and Jhoao Rodriguez were released by the club.

All other transfers

Alvaro Morata moved to Atletico Madrid on loan until the end of the 2019/20 season.
 

Victor Moses has also departed, joining Turkish club Fenerbahce until the end of next season. The Nigerian made his debut for the club earlier this week.

Baba Rahman joined French top-flight club Reims until the end of this season.

Lewis Baker returned from Leeds and will now spend the rest of the season on loan at Reading, and he has been joined at the Madejski Stadium by Matt Miazga, who returned from a loan at Nantes before heading to the Championship club.

Kasey Palmer moved to Bristol City for the remainder of the campaign.

Midfielder Charlie Colkett has left the club after moving to Swedish side Ostersunds in a permanent transfer.

Goalkeeper Bradley Collins extended his loan at Burton Albion until the end of the season and Jack Wakely has moved to Basingstoke Town for the remainder of this campaign.

There were also lower-league loan moves for Josh Grant, who who joined Yeovil, and Karlo Ziger, who moved to Sutton United.

Jared Thompson joined Northern Irish side Warrenpoint Town on loan until the end of the season.
