Honeywell Primary, Heathmere Primary, Shaftesbury Park and Swaffield Primary will all compete at our Cobham Training Centre for a chance to represent the Chelsea Foundation at the national finals of the Premier League Schools Tournament.
Earlier this month 34 teams took part in the Premier League Schools under 11’s mixed event at Southfields Academy, with Honeywell Primary winning the final 2-0 against Heathmere Primary.
The event was followed by a girls’ only competition where Shaftsbury Park came out 1-0 winners against Swaffield Primary.
All four schools will now go on to face each other in a regional final at our Cobham Training Ground later this year, with the winners getting the opportunity to represent the Foundation at the home of Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers, Molineux.
Chelsea Foundation schools coordinator Tyrone Reid said: ‘There was 63 teams which attended the two tournaments with 504 children taking part and we was thrilled to see each school demonstrating the Premier League Primary Stars values; Be connected, be inspiring, be ambitious, be fair.
‘After two competitive days and 203 matches, we have our four schools ready to play in our Regional Final at the club’s Cobham training group against schools from Surrey and we are getting closer to knowing which schools will represent the Foundation in the National Competition in May.
‘Congratulations to all teams and best of luck to those still competing.’
