Eden Hazard says the key to success in this afternoon’s Carabao Cup final will be working together as a team.
The Blues face Manchester City at Wembley with the first trophy of the season up for grabs, and with the teams having now been announced, Hazard is expected to play as the central figure in the attacking trio, flanked by Willian and Pedro.
‘We all know what to do for this kind of game,’ said the Belgian. ‘The game is going to be hard, we know, City are one of the best teams, maybe in the world but England for sure. We need to fight together to try to win the game.
‘We are on the pitch. The manager chooses the team but we are on the pitch and we need to do it well. We have the potential, we have good players, we have experience in this kind of game.’
Hazard, who played up front when we became the first team to beat Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League this season, believes victory today will set us up to achieve our aims between now and the end of the campaign.
‘For the confidence, with three months to play, we want to win today, finish in the top four, go through in the Europa league as well so we still have a lot of targets. Today is the first step, we just focus and try to do our best.’
