Pedro once again showed his knack for opening up opposition defences when he grabbed the opening goal in our 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
The Spaniard has found the net regularly for Chelsea, with 36 goals since he arrived from Barcelona in 2015, and those strikes have often proven a lucky charm for the Blues who have enjoyed 32 wins and one draw in the 33 matches in which he has scored.
Those goals have often proven vital with 15 of them opening the scoring in our matches, including six of the eight that he has scored in the Premier League this season.
Arsenal (h) – 13.08.18
Brought on to replace Willian after 65 minutes, the Spaniard made the vital breakthrough against the Cherries just seven minutes later.
He played a one-two with Olivier Giroud on the edge of the box and feinted to shoot with his left before cutting to his right and sending the ball past Asmir Begovic into the bottom corner of the net in our 2-0 win.
Fulham (h) – 02.12.18
The Blues could not have asked for a better start to the west London derby with Pedro putting us ahead after less than four minutes.
Sprinting forward in support of N’Golo Kante after the Frenchman had won possession just inside the Fulham half, he received the ball on the right of the box and cut inside defender Alfie Mawson before despatching a left-footed effort past goalkeeper Sergio Rico.
Brighton (a) – 16.12.18
Pedro’s 17th minute opener in our 2-1 win at Brighton was served on a plate to him by Eden Hazard.
When the Belgian’s effort from the edge of the box came back to him, he gathered the rebound and surged past two Seagulls defender on the left before sending a low cross to the far post for his Spanish team-mate to ram the ball into the unguarded net.
Newcastle United (h) – 12.01.19
A brilliant pass by David Luiz and a fabulous finish by Pedro gave us a ninth-minute lead against the Magpies.
From inside his own half, the Brazilian centre-back spotted the Spaniard’s forward run and lofted a long ball over the Newcastle defence which Pedro brought under control with his right boot before delicately chipping it over Martin Dubravka with his left.
Tottenham Hotspur (h) – 27.02.19
Pedro showed fantastic pace and skill to break the deadlock against Tottenham after 57 minutes, running on to Cesar Azpilicueta’s through ball on the right channel and cutting inside Toby Alderweireld before firing a fierce left-footed shot between the legs of Hugo Lloris.
