Sunday’s match against Bristol City Women will be dedicated to the Chelsea Foundation to celebrate the great work that is being done both in the local area and around the world.
The Chelsea Foundation uses the power of football and sport to motivate, educate and inspire through a broad range of initiatives focusing on employment, education, social deprivation, crime reduction, youth offending and much more.
To celebrate this, prior to kick-off the squad will warm up in Chelsea Foundation T-shirts and there will also be an exclusive interview with Blues boss and Foundation trustee Emma Hayes on the big screen at Kingsmeadow.
Prior to kick off Foundation participants from our walking football programme and Kicks initiative will play matches against their peers from the Bristol City Robins Foundation on the five-a-side pitch adjacent to the stadium so why not arrive with plenty of time and cheer them on.
At half-time, participants from the Chelsea Foundation will take to the pitch for a penalty shoot-out with mascots Stamford and Bridget and there will be plenty of Foundation content in the matchday programme for you to read before the players return for the second half.
Chelsea manager Hayes said: ‘I am proud to be a trustee of the Foundation so I know very well the work that the Foundation does. It is the breadth and depth of work that goes in to communities around the world which makes it so impressive.
‘The work includes social inclusion coaching and support, working in refugee camps, supporting communities overseas, the work within disability football and the promotion of diverse options for our communities to name a few.
‘It is a department of the club that has grown hugely and is quite easily the best in the country. I am very proud to represent them and have witnessed the work become an integral part of the club.
‘All of us within the team are very proud to support the Chelsea Foundation this weekend.’
Sunday’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League match with Bristol City kicks off at 2pm and tickets are still available to buy at £1 for juniors (under-20) and seniors (over-65) and £9 for adults.
