Inter interested in Moses deal

According to Sky Sports, Inter Milan chief executive Beppe Marotta has confirmed his club’s interest in signing Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea as they gear up in their push to regain the Serie A title.

Moses, who is currently on loan at Turkish side Fenerbahce, played under Inter coach Antonio Conte in our Premier League-winning squad in 2016/17 and was linked with a move to Serie A last summer.

When quizzed about Inter’s interest in the Nigerian winger, Marotta was reported to have said: ‘Moses? He is definitely a candidate.’

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio adds that Inter have ‘approval’ from Chelsea for the deal but they will need to make space for the 29-year-old in their squad before the move can be completed.

‘Regarding Victor Moses, after receiving Chelsea's approval, Inter are now waiting to move Valentino Lazaro before re-uniting Conte with his former wing-back,’ he wrote.

Inter are currently second in Serie A, four points behind leaders Juventus after drawing their last two matches against Atalanta and Lecce.

Blues and Reds to battle for Werner?

The Mirror reports Chelsea are in talks to sign Timo Werner but Liverpool are likely to vie with the Blues for the RB Leipzig striker this month.

‘Chelsea have already opened ¬negotiations for the German international, who has struck 18 goals in 17 ¬Bundesliga appearances so far this season,’ the paper reports.

‘Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a long-time ¬admirer of the 23-year-old goal-machine and was -keeping his powder dry for the summer before making any bids for the player.

‘But Chelsea’s move in the January window, following the lifting of their FIFA transfer ban, has triggered ¬immediate interest at Anfield.’

However, the report suggests Leipzig may want to keep Werner for the rest of the season as they look to hold on to their lead at the top of the Bundesliga.

‘Werner has already expressed a desire to play in the Premier League, although it is still likely that RB ¬Leipzig, who have a great chance of ending the season as Bundesliga champions, will attempt to keep Werner until the summer,’ the report adds.

‘The striker, who has been capped 29 times for his country, is seen as a main component of -Leipzig’s ¬attempt to keep at bay big title rivals like Bayern Munich.’

Villa make late bid for Giroud

Although Inter Milan are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Olivier Giroud, the Daily Mail suggests Aston Villa could make a late bid to keep the French striker in the Premier League.

The Villans remain in the relegation zone after a 1-1 draw at Brighton last weekend and are keen to sign an experienced striker to help in their battle for survival.

‘Villa are desperate to bring in a striker with Wesley out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury,’ states the report..’As reported by Le10sport, Giroud is Villa's preferred option to fill that void, with the Frenchman possessing a wealth of Premier League experience.’

Giroud's Chelsea contract expires next summer but he is reported to be eager to move this month in order to ensure he can play a key part for France at Euro 2020.’
