Pedro on the move?

According to Goal.com, Pedro could be moving to Japan or the United States when his contract at Chelsea expires at the end of the season.

The website suggests the winger has received a lucrative offer from J.League side Vissel Kobe, who are captained by his former Barcelona team-mate Andres Iniesta, and has also been the subject of interest from two American teams.

‘Pedro is being targeted by Vissel Kobe as the Chelsea attacker explores his options to leave Stamford Bridge in the near future,’ states the report.

‘The 32-year-old, who has only six months left on his contract, has further interest from two Major League Soccer clubs Inter Miami and New York City FC.

‘Kobe have previously signed high-profile names such as David Villa, Andres Iniesta and Thomas Vermaelen, while Fernando Torres also moved to Japan to play for Sagan Tosu in a bid to boost the J League over the coming seasons.

‘There is further interest from teams in bringing him back to Spain, although that is not from the elite clubs in La Liga after Pedro admitted to being keen on a return to Barcelona.’

Hudson suggest Blues pursue Grealish

In an interview with caughtoffside.com, ex-Chelsea midfielder Alan Hudson has suggested Jack Grealish could provide a creative spark if the Blues are able to sign him from Aston Villa.

According to the former Blue, the 24-year-old could give Frank Lampard’s side an attacking boost in the final third as we look to convert our domination of possession against opponents into more goals.

‘I am his biggest fan,’ said Hudson of the Villa captain.

‘Grealish is the most outstanding attacking midfield player in the game at this moment. A player who goes past people and scores goals.

‘The bottom line is Chelsea haven’t got anyone since Eden Hazard left who has the fans on the edge of their seats.

‘Jack Grealish would be that man.’

Chelsea tie gives Shrews added incentive to beat Reds

Shrewsbury midfielder Josh Laurent has told the Football Association's official website the possibility of facing Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup will give the League One side extra motivation to get past Liverpool in their fourth round replay next week.

The Shrews came from two goals down to earn a surprise 2-2 draw with the Reds on Saturday, forcing a second meeting at Anfield next week.

And with the winners of the tie going on to meet the Blues at Stamford Bridge, Laurent said there will be shortage of motivation for him and his team-mates to produce another shock result against the Premier League leaders

‘It's unbelievable and just shows the magic of the cup, another big game for us,’ said the 24-year-old, who won the penalty which sparked Shrewsbury’s comeback.

‘In the last round we had a replay against Bristol City and the prospect of playing against Liverpool was a big factor in the result.

‘I'm sure it will have the same effect again. Hopefully we can find another hero at Anfield.’
