In a world-first for a sports team, Chelsea Women have launched an interactive augmented reality game on Instagram called ‘Wing Ball'.

Using face tracking technology, followers of the club’s official Instagram account, are tasked with keeping a flying football from hitting obstacles, in the form of a series of proverbial trailing legs, by moving their head in order to score points. As you progress, the game speeds up and becomes more difficult!

While enjoying some well-earned downtime outside of training, stars of Emma Hayes’s side, who take on Arsenal in Saturday’s Conti Cup final, have been quick to test their motor skills in search of bragging rights among the squad.

Sam Kerr, Beth England, Ji So-yun, and Adelina Engman have all recorded solid efforts so far but it’s defender Deanna Cooper who currently leads the way with 42 points.

We can tell you now, that 42 will take some beating! Feel free to direct message the club your scores on Instagram and make sure you have updated the Instagram app.
