In our latest ‘Getting to know Chelsea Women’ feature, we spoke to midfielder Drew Spence and she gave us an insight into her life off the pitch…

Among her answers, the Blues’ longest-serving player shares her favourite Chelsea memory, what she gets up to in her spare time and the career path she might have taken if she was not a professional footballer…

How would you describe your playing style?

Composed on the ball, like to pass and strong in a challenge.

Who do you sit next to in the changing room?

In training I sit next to Maren [Mjelde] and Jonna [Andersson] and in games it’s Ramona [Bachmann] and Jonna.

If you weren’t a footballer, what career path would you have taken?

I have no clue. I would have probably joined the Army or something.

What is your best Chelsea memory?

Probably winning the first FA Cup because everyone needed that first trophy for the club and for myself.

How many pairs of trainers do you own?

I actually don’t know. I’ll do the ones I actually wear… Right now I have around 15 pairs, but some that I’ve not even worn yet and that’s not even all of them!

How to do tackle boredom?

I like to watch a lot of TV, or I like to play PlayStation. I watched everything on Netflix!

Do you listen to podcasts too?

I prefer visuals because some of the ones I watch are quite funny and I like to see their expressions. But I do listen to them on the way to training.

Who was your favourite footballer growing up?

I always loved Zinedine Zidane but as I got older Cesc Fabregas was my favourite midfielder to watch.

What's your favourite cuisine?

Anything with pasta, but then again I really like Mexican.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Probably Australia. I’ve always wanted to go there for a period of time and everyone that goes there seems to love it.

If you could meet a famous person for a coffee, who would it be?

That’s a tough one! I'd like to meet Anne Frank because I'd like to just hear her experiences - I'm really interested in World War II.
