1998 was, in terms of trophies won, the joint-most successful calendar year in Chelsea’s history. Today marks the 22nd anniversary of the first of those triumphs, the League Cup final win over Middlesbrough, and you can relive a remarkable few months in the club’s history with a podcast celebrating The Cup Kings of ’98.

The one-off podcast, first aired in 2018 ahead of our Legends match against Inter Milan, is available to listen to below, via iTunes Podcasts, Soundcloud and numerous other podcast-hosting apps. Simply search for The Cup Kings of '98.

The Blues picked up three trophies in under six months shortly after Gianluca Vialli replaced Ruud Gullit as player-manager, and The Cup Kings of ’98 hears exclusively from six integral members of that side: captain Dennis Wise, final goalscorers Gianfranco Zola and Frank Sinclair, Eddie Newton, Tore Andre Flo and Graeme Le Saux.

They tell a story that will never get old, and between them explain what made Chelsea’s class of ’98 so successful, so popular, and, ultimately, so memorable.

You can also listen to Blue Days, a five-part podcast series chronicling the extraordinary 1996/97 season...
