We caught up with Magda Eriksson via FaceTime and the Chelsea Women captain explained the importance of sticking to the Government guidelines to stay at home, how she’s keeping fit during the coronavirus lockdown and she also gives a message to Blues fans.

As we come to the end of week two of the national COVID-19 lockdown, Eriksson gave an update on how she is coping with the absence of football and spoke about having to adhere to the Government measures in order to protect those who are most vulnerable.‘I’m trying to keep a positive spirit and make the best out of this situation at the moment,’ she said.‘It’s massively important, it means everything really. We have to do that, we have to stick together as a community and do it together, follow the rules and protect the elderly.’You can watch the video call in full below…

The 26-year-old also revealed how she is keeping fit while staying at home and said: ‘We have got our own programmes from Chelsea so we’re running and doing our gym from home.‘We were all able to go and pick some equipment from the gym at Cobham which has really helped me a lot because I feel like I can stick to my weekly routine.‘Then we’re out running by the Thames which is quite nice as well.’Lastly, the Chelsea skipper had a few motivational words for the Blues faithful.‘Be patient and be resilient, stick with the guidelines, stick with the recommendations and together let’s do everything we can to stop this disease from spreading.‘We will still play football again and we will achieve amazing things together with Chelsea and the fans.’
