Today marks the 170th anniversary of Los Angeles' official incorporation as an American city and the residents of LA have been welcoming hosts to Chelsea on several occasions over the years.
Having been purchased by the United States from Mexico a couple of years earlier along with the rest of California, the City of Angels was officially incorporated as a city on 4 April 1850.
The Blues have been welcomed to LA a number of times in pre-season. Our first trip was back in 1967 for a friendly against Dundee United, but they have become more frequent in recent times. Here are a collection of images from our modern-day visits.
