Bonetti passed away on Easter Sunday following a long battle with illness. During a remarkable two-decade long Chelsea career he made 729 appearances between our posts, a figure bettered only by Ron Harris. The Cat, as he was known, won the FA Cup, the Cup Winners’ Cup, the League Cup and the Second Division title during his playing days with us, and was also a member of England’s World Cup-winning squad in 1966.
